250 years of defiance, honored in fire.
In the summer of 1776, in a sweltering room in Philadelphia, fifty six men signed their names to what the Crown would have called a death warrant. They called it a Declaration.
They had no army worth the name. No treasury. No promise they would live to see it honored. What they had was nerve, and a single closing line that still burns: they pledged to one another their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
